Tigers Fan Catches Nelson Cruz’s Series-Clinching HR, Rolls It Back on Field (GIF)
Tigers fans doen’t have much to celebrate this postseason. They got thoroughly rocked by the Orioles in the ALDS, as Baltimore completed a three-game sweep by beating the Tigers in Detroit on Sunday, 2-1. However, that didn’t stop one Tigers fan from getting one last punch in before the season was officially over.
Said Detroit Tigers fan, who was eager enough to catch a game ball that he brought his glove to the field, caught the Nelson Cruz home run that ultimately clinched the series for the Orioles, then promptly rollllllllllllllled the ball back on the field. Not “threw.” “Rolled.”
I don’t know why I’m making that distinction, but it seems like the roll is even more of a slap in the face than your typical tossing of a home run ball back onto the field. It’s like the difference between someone keying your car and someone keying your car while maintaining eye contact with you the whole time.
Here’s the GIF:
Totally badass. I wish I had more than two hands so I could give this guy like six thumbs up. He’s so secure in his decision.
Not as satisfying as advancing in the playoffs, but as cool as possible given the circumstances.
