AHL Goalie Cedrick Desjardins Has Frank Sinatra and Derek Jeter on His Helmet (Pic)
AHL goalie Cedrick Desjardins must have been pretty excited to get picked up by the New York Rangers this past summer. After getting the news, he commissioned an airbrushed helmet that featured Derek Jeter and Frank Sinatra, two New York icons who are no longer relevant. I guess he didn’t have room for the Statue of Liberty, Rudy Giuliani, and a hot dog vendor.
Sadly, Cedrick Desjardins became an AHL goalie after the New York Rangers waived him, and he’s now playing in Hartford for the Wolf Pack. To be fair, a wolf is probably a much cooler logo on a helmet than a guy in a fedora, so it’s an upgrade in helmet iconography if not in actual hockey prestige.
Here’s another photo:

Ugh. That’s not exactly my cup of tea.
Maybe Cedrick Desjardins can wrap it in plastic until he gets the call back up to NYC.
