Alex Gordon Slams Into Outfield Wall to Make a Catch for the Royals

No one needs to tell Alex Gordon about sacrificing his body to make the play. The Royals outfielder contributed to their World Series bid by tracking down a DEEP fly ball to the warning track…and then into the wall.

This video is a little deceiving, because the camera covers so much ground—from behind home plate all the way to the outfield wall—that it doesn’t look like Alex Gordon is moving very quickly. But then you see the collision with the chain link fence. Either he was moving really fast, or he had the presence of mind to “flop” after making the catch and hitting the wall. Unlikely. He was truckin’.
