San Francisco radio station

A San Francisco radio station, in an effort to…something…has banned the Lorde song “Royals,” due to its referencing a certain Kansas City baseball team whose ambitions may be in conflict with the Giants.

Now, one would think that the fact that the song was played to death a year ago would be enough of a de facto ban that this wouldn’t be an issue, but 99.7 The Point, a San Francisco radio station, has decided to beat the dead horse by ensuring that it won’t be played during the Series.

And now other San Francisco radio stations are following suit:

Way to really go out on a limb, fellas.

Will KC radio stations respond by banning any songs by They Might be Giants? ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

In the interim, you can go ahead and listen to “Royals” whenever you want via most any other outlet, and if you don’t live in San Francisco, you can pretty much ignore The Point’s policy entirely.
