The University of Kentucky’s John Calipari has become an extremely successful college basketball coach by recruiting highly talented players who have absolutely no interest in being college students. While some might say his approach is unethical and detrimental higher learning, there can be no doubt that it works. After elevating the basketball programs at UMass and Memphis to national status, the guy has now returned UK to its former glory—and he’s basically done it all with one-and-dones.
But how does he do it, though? How does Calipari consistently get top recruits to commit to his program? Is it the promise of competing for a National Championship? Is it his track record of getting players to the NBA?
No. It’s his sweet, sweet dance moves.
