Tim Duncan Donation Gives $250k to Local Cancer Research Project
A recent Tim Duncan donation proves that whatever the Big Fundamental may lack in excitement, he makes up for in heart. The life-long San Antonio Spur has made a $250,000 (ok, $247,000) donation to the San Antonio 1000 Cancer Genome Project (click the link for details on its mission and how you could be a part of it).
The Tim Duncan donation funds the effort which is based in San Antonio but also is being carried out in Spain and China, making this truly a global effort.
Few players have shown as much commitment to their city and team as Duncan has to the city of San Antonio and the Spurs organization over the course of his career—and this donation is just another example of that. Maybe this is the reason he is still playing at a high level at the age of 200. Maybe this charity is really just a front for a genetics lab that allows the Spurs players to fight Father Time.
Nah. It’s probably just a good deed he’s doing.
