76ers Win First Game of Season…After Game Restarted Because Teams Were Going the Wrong Way (Video)

76ers win first game after restart

The Philadelphia 76ers were headed in the wrong direction. Then they turned things around.

That is not a metaphor. Last night in Minnesota, the Philadelphia 76ers were literally headed in the wrong direction—that is, the Sixers and Timberwolves took the wrong sides of the court to start the game and were going toward the wrong baskets. So 16 seconds in, before the first point had been scored, the referees made them switch sides and start the game over.

Of course, while it was not a metaphor for the 76ers season—since that would imply that they are going to be much better from here on out—it is fitting that the first 76ers win had such a bizarre start. After losing their first 17 games, you kinda have to figure every 76ers win this season is going to be some kind of fluke.

Take a look at the highlights:

Honestly, I was expecting the Sixers to storm the court and give coach Brett Brown a Gatorade shower. I’m a little disappointed.
