Josh Gordon Suspended After Party at Johnny Manziel’s House
On Saturday it was reported that Josh Gordon had been suspended by the Cleveland Browns for their final game of the season after missing the team’s walk-through earlier that morning, while rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel was fined for showing up late.
Where were they? It didn’t take long to get an answer.
According to CBS Sports’ Jason LaCanfora, Manziel threw a party at his house on Friday night that was attended by several Browns players, including Gordon. The Browns were quick to act after the latest in a long line of off-field incidents for the No. 1 wide receiver. And with Josh Gordon suspended for today’s game, he finishes the 2014 season with only five games played, leaving him one short of gaining an accrued season towards free agency.
As for Manziel, while he is currently on the I.R. with an injured hamstring, he is still expected to show up for either the walk-through, or for treatment on his injury. When he was absent for the start of both on Saturday, the Browns sent security to his apartment to check up on him.
In short, this all adds up to what should be a very interesting off-season for the Cleveland Browns.
