Ziat Paigin throws stick

Russia’s Ziat Paigin is not a very good loser.  In fact, he’s a very bad loser.  And after losing to Canada in the gold medal game of the IIHF World Junior Championships on Monday, Paigin did something bad, even for someone who’s a very bad loser: He threw his stick into the stands at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Paigin’s act was caught by the official, who gave him a 20-minute game misconduct for “throwing the stick.” His incident was also caught on camera.

Here it is:

According to TSN in Canada, the stick struck a middle-aged fan who was cut and bleeding as a result.  The fan met with Toronto Police after the incident but it is not clear whether or not any additional punishment will be handed down from the police or the IIHF.
