triple h breaks character to console crying kid

Paul Levesque, known professionally as Triple H, is the real-life Executive Vice President of the WWE. But of course he is also a performer, and in the current WWE storyline he plays a heel. (SPOILER ALERT: wrestling is fake, y’all.)

Unfortunately, on Monday Night Raw in Dallas last night, Triple H played the heel a little too well. The WWE legend was interacting with a young fan sitting ring-side when that young fan, for whom things were all too real, started to cry.

At that point, Triple H and WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon both broke character to console the poor kid. And the whole thing was live-tweeted by Chris Olds, managing editor of Beckett, the baseball card magazine.

Check it out:

I’d say the kid made out pretty well.

Nice going, Mr. H.
