Doug Baldwin’s ‘Pants-Drop’ Celebration Offended NBC (Video)
Legendary French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard is believed to have once said that “every cut is a lie,” and if that’s the case then whoever was running the NBC Super Bowl broadcast is responsible for a major whopper. It had to do with a touchdown celebration made by the Seahawks‘ Doug Baldwin, who performed a simulated mooning and suggestive football drop in an obvious tribute to Randy Moss‘ similar celebrations on the field.
Funny, right? Well, unfortunately, somebody behind the scenes at NBC had an itchy “cut to forlorn Tom Brady” finger, so Doug Baldwin’s hilarious touchdown celebration went unseen by everyone except those who were actually at the game. I thought everybody in America was against censorship now! As if that weren’t enough, Baldwin even got a penalty for the play from the refs.
But freedom of speech has prevailed, kind of….
