Names of Wizards Season Ticket Holders Are Written on the Verizon Center Floor (Pics)
The Washington Re****ns are notorious for treating their season ticket holders like garbage.
The Washington Wizards, it seems, are determined not to make the same mistakes as the local NFL franchise. This week the team revealed that the names of over 3,000 Wizards season ticket holders are inscribed in the team wordmark painted on the court at the Verizon Center.
After suffering through years—nay, decades—of mediocrity, Wizards fans have actually been treated to very good basketball this year. Their team currently sits in third place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 31-18. While they’re not exactly favorites to take the NBA title, they do stand a very good chance of advancing to the second round of the playoffs. And if that happens, it will be the first time they made it out of the first round in consecutive years since 1977-79.
That’s why the Wizards are paying tribute to their most loyal die-hard fans. The names have actually been inscribed on the court since the beginning of the season. However, the team wanted to make sure they would hold up against all the wear and tear before pointing them out to everyone.
Now that they know the names have held up, they’ve emailed season ticket holders and invited them down onto the court to see their names and take photos at center court.
