Rajon Rondo and Rick Carlisle Have Heated Exchange in Mavs Win (Video)

Rajon Rondo and Rick Carlisle

Despite trailing Toronto for most of the game, the lagging Mavs stepped it up in the fourth quarter to run away with a victory. However, it didn’t come without a little friction. Recent acquisition Rajon Rondo was seen in a shouting match with coach Rick Carlisle on the sidelines during a timeout after Rondo was apparently ignoring Carlisle’s play calls from the bench.

Rajon Rondo and Rick Carlisle were seen going at it following Carlisle’s appearance on the court after he had to call a timeout himself with just over eight minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Here’s the video:

Unfortunately, it seems the announcers were able to catch more of the Rajon Rondo and Rick Carlisle dispute as TV went to commercial.

In the end, Rondo sat out the remaining 20 minutes of the game, as the Mavs came back to earn the 99-92 win. Carlisle chalked it up to a “difference of opinion,” but as you can see in the trailing seconds of the above clip, that didn’t quite satisfy the reporter asking the question.

Points to Rick Carlisle for taking the high road throughout this.
