They’re Making a Very Special WBC Title Belt for the Historic Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight
That thing you see in the image above is a standard WBC title belt. As you can clearly see, it’s a tacky piece of sewer garbage totally unworthy of the upcoming Mayweather-Pacquiao superfight. That’s why the WBC has decided to make a special title belt for that historic encounter at the MGM Grand on May 2.
We don’t know what it will look like just yet, but in a terribly written press release posted on the WBC website, WBC president Mauricia Sulaiman says he wants it to have emeralds and platinum.
“For this special recognition I would like to have emeralds or platinum, but everything will be defined during the next weeks. This is because of the magnitude of the event, which will be broadcast via TV networks globally.”
Then Sulaiman went on.
“It came in a good moment and it will be an emotive event. Both are obviously putting their legacy at stake, to prove who’s the best, satisfying an enormous created expectance. They are also competing to be considered one of the best 10 fighters in the entire boxing history.”
An enormous created expectance, huh? Whoever designs the special edition WBC title belt, I hope they’re better at their job than the person who writes copy for the WBC website. Yikes.
Seriously, though, I hope the belt will be pretty awesome.
