Craig Sager Is Back! Everyone’s Favorite NBA Sideline Reporter Returns After Beating Leukemia (Videos)
After 11 long months of forgettable questions and boring sport coats, NBA fans are breathing a sigh of relief because, finally, Craig Sager is back.
The NBA on TNT (and March Madness on CBS) sideline reporter announced he would be stepping away last April in order to undergo treatment for leukemia. But he managed to beat the disease thanks to, among other things, a bone marrow transplant from his son, Craig Sager Jr. And on Thursday night in Chicago, one of the most well-liked men in the NBA today made his return to the air during the Bulls-Thunder game.
Needless to say, the Bulls, the NBA, and TNT rolled out the red carpet. Sager was honored on the United Center video board before the game, then presented with a very special Bulls-theme sports coat by none other than Benny the Bull. Meanwhile, TNT put together a little montage of players and coaches—including Gregg Popovich— welcoming Sager back.
Take a look:
Even the folks over at ESPN paid tribute to Craig Sager’s return to action:
