Celtics Fan Stabbed During Brawl In The TD Garden Stands (Video)
Police are currently investigating an incident that unfolded in the upper level of the TD Garden during Wednesday’s game between the Boston Celtics and the Memphis Grizzlies—the result of which left one Celtics fan stabbed while the culprit remains on the loose.
The fan that was stabbed was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. As for the perpetrator, it shouldn’t be long before the police track him down, thanks in large part to one spectator in the area who described the scene and even took some video footage of it with his camera phone.
First, his account of what unfolded, via Deadspin:
So the Celtics game is winding down. In the section next to us, some typical pill bros are getting more and more rowdy. The guys start yelling at each other for a minute and I decide to film.
One dude gives the other the finger (oh no) and it looks like he flicks something at him, beer? This pissed off the other white trash dude.
While this is happening, the Celtics just went ahead with a minute or so left. The place is going wild, so no one really notices the escalation. Then the dude pulls out a knife. You can hear the knife in the video. At the same other dudes start fighting each other and even at one point a girl is punching someone in the head. People are tumbling down the stairs.
Towards the end of the video you can see the knife guy in the corner darting across sections to sneak away.
And here’s a look at the video that was taken of the brawl. Pay close attention to the dude in the white Rondo jersey and white backwards cap. You can see him flip his switchblade and go on the attack in slow motion at the 0:54 mark, after the dude in the black Rondo jersey throws something at him.

If the police are looking for motives, my guess is these dudes are still mad that the Rajon Rondo trade has left them with a bunch of useless, out-of-date Celtics jerseys.
