Getting to sporting events early is often more trouble than it’s worth. You have to come straight from work, traffic can still be terrible, and your efforts are rewarded with some boring dancers, announcements, and warmup drills. However, sometimes things can get a little more interesting.

For example, in Orlando on Sunday, LeBron James and Iman Shumpert decided to make the pregame shootaround a little more interesting by spicing it up with a dunk contest. Normally, these would just be some half-assed jams with players getting about 18 inches off the ground.

Nope. Not this time. These are some truly spectacular dunks that are fit for the dunk contest, but way more fun in that they have the element of surprise and spontaneity, two things the dunk contest hasn’t had for a long time.

If only every NBA game had something like this, there would be people camping out to get in early.
