Mexican Wrestler Dead After In-Ring Accident (Videos)
Pedro Aguayo Ramírez, a.k.a. Perro Aguayo Jr., was squaring off against Rey Mysterio during a professional wrestling match in Tijuana last night when a tragic accident in the ring left the 35-year-old Mexican wrestler dead.
It is not quite clear exactly when the accident occurred, but it is believed that it happened after one of these Rey Mysterio dropkicks from the video below. (Aguayo is wearing the black t-shirt, shorts, and boots.)
After taking the kick from Mysterio at the 0:22 mark in the video above, Aguayo remains motionless on the ropes for quite some time.
At the 0:42 mark in the video below, it appears as though Rey Mysterio notices something is wrong. He informs the referee and the ringside medical personnel, who quickly rush to Aguayo’s aid:
Perro Aguayo Jr. was rushed to the Hospital del Prado, but by then it was too late and they pronounced the Mexican wrestler dead due to cervical spine trauma.
Pedro Aguayo Ramírez was the real-life son of lucha libre legend Perro Aguayo. His wrestling career began at the age of 15, and ended much too early as a result of this tragic accident.
