Aldo-McGregor Press Conference Almost Turned Into a Sneak Peak of UFC 189’s Main Event (Video)
UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo isn’t scheduled to defend his title against Irish bad boy Conor McGregor until UFC 189 on July 11. However, Aldo, McGregor, and UFC president Dana White are all currently on a 10-city world tour promoting the event. And at the rate things are going, these two aren’t going to make it to July without throwing a few punches.
At a recent stop in Toronto documented by the UFC’s own video blog, the tension was palpable as McGregor continually pushed Aldo’s buttons.
But that was nothing. This week the UFC 189 World Tour touched down in McGregor’s home town of Dublin. As you can imagine, the crowd at that press conference was on his side, so when Aldo proclaimed that he was the king of Dublin, things got a little crazy. McGregor put his feet up on the table and insisted he was the king of Dublin, whipping the fans into a frenzy. Then he ran over and stole Aldo’s belt, at which point Dana White had to stand up and physically keep the two apart.

Fortunately Aldo and McGregor did not actually come to blows, because it would have been a shame if they had to call the press conference off early. There’s nothing quite as entertaining as 3,000 drunk Irishmen.
And yes, by the end of the event, they really were drunk. Check out this NSFW exchange:
It’s kind of a shame the actual fight has to be in Vegas, don’t you think?
