Paul George first dunk

On August 1, 2014 Indiana Pacers star Paul George suffered one of the most gruesome sports injuries of all time during a Team USA scrimmage. After that, the Pacers just planned on their best player missing the entire 2014-15 season.

However, George had other ideas. He wanted to make it back before the end of the regular season to help his team make the playoffs. And on April 5, 2015, he accomplished his goal. Then on Sunday, April 12, in his fourth game back, George dunked for the first time.

Of course, dunking never used to be a big deal for the 6’9″ forward. But after your leg snaps in half, everybody gets a little nervous every time you leave your feet.

Luckily, George’s dunk on Sunday came on a free-and-clear, 2-on-0 break. So he had all the time in the world to get his footwork right and stick the landing.

Take a look:

Now, if only George can get in shape for the last few games and help the Pacers make the playoffs…
