Pacquiao-Mayweather Will Charge for Weigh-In Tickets

Because there’s always a buck to be made, the camps from the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight will be charging for tickets to the weigh-in before the fight. This is a boxing first, since the weigh-ins are generally required to be free as it’s an administrative process conducted by the Nevada State Boxing Commission.

Before we go breaking out the pitchforks, it should be noted that the proceeds will all go to charity. Good for charities, bad for cash-strapped fans who find themselves boxed out of yet another facet of this high profile Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. Normally, a portion of the MGM Grand Garden Arena is blocked off for all but the most high-profile fights, but the entire venue will be open for even the weigh-in.

I guess this is a pretty popular, important fight or something.

Huh. First I’ve heard of it.

Ticket sales will benefit the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
