Rams Draft Todd Gurley: Here’s What Zac Stacy Thinks (Tweet)
For the first time since the Cleveland Browns took Trent Richardson with the third overall pick in 2012, a running back was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
The tailback drought ended when the St. Louis Rams used their 10th overall pick to select Georgia running back Todd Gurley.
The pick gives the Rams an incredibly deep backfield, with the likes of Tre Mason, Zac Stacy, and Benny Cunningham already on their roster. That means they’ll likely have to get rid of at least one of those guys (and maybe two). Stacy didn’t seem to be thrilled about the prospects of that, if this tweet—which he posted after the Rams’ pick and has since deleted—is any indication:
It didn’t take long for Stacy to realize this was a mistake and delete the comment.
As for fellow Rams running back Tre Mason, he was a little smarter with his Twitter management:
Say less… #FueledUp
