The 49ers Unveil Alternate Black (Really Black) Uniforms (Pics)
The 49ers, in a bit of a rebuilding process after having enjoyed a glimmer of greatness the past few seasons, have gone to the old standby, the “alternate” uniform. Done more for merch sales than an actual aesthetic identity for the team, the alternate uniforms normally go in a drastically different direction, and this almost all-black number is no exception.
The uniforms depart from any recognizable San Fran color scheme, consisting of a black and red affair, accented only by the helmet.

Biker gang tats not included.
Expect to see these guys during big event games for the 49ers, which, the way things have been going, might just mean a nationally televised game, or maybe a big game in your dynasty mode on the next season of Madden.
I think they’re pretty cool looking, and, despite the all-black look, pretty traditional. No metallic piping, no shading on a logo. It’s hard to get offended by these, even if they do deviate more than a little from the familiar 49ers color scheme.
Even if San Fran fans take issue, I think this will likely rank pretty low on their bitching list this offseason.
