Jim Kelly Receives Standing Ovation at NFL Draft (Video)
There may not be as many big name prospects coming off the board during the second round of the NFL Draft as there was in the first, but what Friday’s 2nd round may lack in big name prospects, it surely made up for with big name alums.
Among the big name alums to make their appearance at Day 2 of the 2015 NFL Draft was none other than Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly.
In March 2014, Kelly was told that his cancer had recurred and he would have to undergo radiation and chemotherapy treatment. Less than 14 months later, there he was, receiving a standing ovation from the fans at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, announcing the Bills’ 50th-overall pick (which they used on Florida State CB Ronald Darby) as a cancer-free man.
Here’s a look at Kelly getting ready to make the pick:

And here’s a clip of the Jim Kelly standing ovation from the 2015 NFL Draft:
After announcing the pick, Kelly spoke with the NFL Network’s Melissa Stark. During the interview, Kelly was asked where he sees himself next year.
Jim’s answer? On the sideline of a Bills playoff game…at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Here’s a look at that interview, which included an appearance from his daughter, Erin:
Speaking of Jim Kelly’s daughter, Erin…
If the Bengals didn’t win the second round of the NFL Draft, the Bills did.
