Mayweather Bans Nichols and Beadle from Covering Fight (Tweets)
Reports coming from Rachel Nichols and Michelle Beadle‘s Twitter accounts claim they’ve both been banned from entering MGM Grand Arena to cover tonight’s Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Why? It probably has something to do with the fact that both Nichols and Beadle have written stories and conducted interviews critical of Floyd Mayweather’s lengthy record of domestic violence in the past.
No word on whether or not Nichols and Beadle will be able to contest or circumvent the ban, but considering Floyd Mayweather’s team has seemed to make all the logistical rules regarding the fight, I would say getting access might be tough at this, the 11th hour. However, Mayweather’s PR agent refuted the claim.
First, here’s Rachel Nichols’ announcement:

And Mayweather’s PR agent:

Hmm. Weird that the only two publicized misunderstandings would affect two women that called Mayweather out on his violent behavior. What are the odds?
And because Mayweather doesn’t get to make a magic wand to make the truth go away, here’s another look at Rachel Nichols’ bold interview with Mayweather from last year.
