‘SNL’ Does Mayweather-Pacquiao Sketch (Video)

Mayweather-Pacquiao Sketch

Last night was home to one of those unavoidable programming conflicts that happen whenever a big one-time-only sporting event happens on television – the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight was running at the same time as Saturday Night Live. Rather than ignoring the situation, the SNL crew decided to lean in and do a fake pirated pay-per-view signal of the fight, and the resulting Mayweather-Pacquiao sketch was pretty funny.

The premise of SNL’s Mayweather-Pacquiao sketch was basically that in order to keep people from changing the channel over to the fight, NBC got cast members Jay Pharoah and Aidy Bryant to impersonate the fighters, despite their questionable resemblance to Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Also, they don’t actually know how to box, which of course just makes the whole thing funnier.

You can watch last night’s Saturday Night Live Mayweather-Pacquiao sketch below, which as some have pointed out has some interesting similarities with the actual fight. For more from SNL, head over to the show’s official site right here.
