Mayweather responds to Pacquiao excuse

Because all the most high-minded discussions take place on social media, Floyd Mayweather took to Instagram to respond to the Manny Pacquiao excuse that he fought with an injured shoulder last weekend. Even Mayweather haters would likely admit that Pacquiao bringing this up after the fight is a little weak.

Mayweather certainly thought so as he offered up his thoughts:

19 years in the fight game and I’ve had one excuse: “Don’t have an excuse”. Winners win and losers have excuses.

And there ya go. It’s easy to dislike Mayweather, but it’s hard to argue with that sentiment. Whether or not he would lose without making excuses is another story, but he hasn’t crossed that bridge yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, the Pacquiao excuse managed to ultimately do him a disservice.
