Matt Barnes to James Harden’s Mom: “S*** My D***, B****” During Game 2
Trash talk is an accepted and even beloved part of sports. However, there are lines you do not cross. Ever.
On Wendesday night, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Matt Barnes crossed several of those lines when he told James Harden’s Mom, “s*** my d***, b****!” during Game 2 between the Clippers and Rockets.
This is not conjecture, either. James Harden’s mom, Monja Willis, confirmed that Barnes said something incredibly bad, and several other sources confirmed what that something was.
Here’s what she told TMZ:
“My older son walked over to him and told him to apologize, and he did. What he told me was that he would never want to disrespect anyone’s mother because his mother passed from cancer, and that he was sorry. I accept his apology.”
It’s unclear whether Barnes knew the woman he told to s*** his d*** was James Harden’s mom. But even if he didn’t know, it’s not like it would have been okay to tell some woman who is not a mother to s*** his d***.
Give Barnes credit, though, for realizing the error of his ways, manning up, and personally apologizing. And give even more credit to Monja Willis. She could have made a big stink about the situation, but she proved herself the bigger person, handling the whole thing with class and dignity.
That said, this will not be the last we hear about this situation. The NBA will surely hand Matt Barnes a hefty fine.
