Jags First-Round Pick Dante Fowler Tears ACL, Out for Season (Video)
Rough news for Jacksonville fans, and for Dante Fowler. The #3 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft blew out his ACL in the first hour of mini-camp, slipping on the turf. He’s out for the season and looking at a ten month rehab schedule.
That’s really rough. Fortunately, Dante Fowler has been projecting an insanely good attitude about his bad luck.
Here’s his outreach on Twitter:
Hey everybody I’ll be fine thank you for your prayers and encouragement , I really appreciate that!

He was in the middle of negotiating his contract, which is expected to be fully guaranteed for $23 million, and, interestingly, unsigned draft picks who participate in mini-camp are protect by injury, as the team has to continue to negotiate in good faith even if the player is injured. So it looks like Dante Fowler is going to get paid as though he didn’t get injured, which is great news for the former Florida Gator.
Here’s a video of the mishap:

Lets wish Dante Fowler a speedy recovery, and hope that he continues his good outlook and comes back better than ever in 2016.
Also: Jeez. Look at that guy. I think a guy that looks like that should have no problem bouncing back. I’m sure Jags fans are hoping I’m right.
