Paul Pierce Sinks Game-Winning Jumper for the Wizards (Video)
Not to be outdone by the rest of the photo finishes we’ve seen in round two, Paul Pierce brought a little magic of his own to the Verizon Center on Saturday. Pierce got the ball with about five seconds left and the game tied at 101. At the top of the key with his back to the basket, he didn’t have anywhere to go, but that didn’t stop Pierce from creating his own shot, as he stepped back near the three pointer line and jacked up a shot over three approaching defenders.
Spoiler alert: It went in, and the Wizards took a 2-1 lead in the series against the Atlanta Hawks.
Here’s the proof:
Asked in a quick-post game interview if he called “bank” on the shot, Pierce replied, like a badass, “I called game.”
He sorta did.
