The title of this post sounds harsh. I didn’t mean for it to be. There is no reason why anybody should expect Seahawks punter Jon Ryan to do poorly on American Ninja Warrior. But let’s face it, in the NFL, punters and kickers can’t get no respect.

Of course, that’s probably why Jon Ryan went on American Ninja Warrior. (Even though he’s Canadian.) Even after throwing that touchdown pass in the NFC Championship Game, he still wanted to prove that punters are athletes, too. And like I said, Ryan didn’t embarrass himself. The American Ninja Warrior course is no joke. After making it through two obstacles, Ryan faltered on the third—the one they call “The Tilting Table.”

Take a look:

If you want to watch his entire run, click here. As you’ll see, Bryan’s Seahawks teammates Jermaine Kearse and Derrick Coleman were there to cheer him on.

In any case, congratulations at not-sucking on American Ninja Warrior, Jon. You’ve certainly made your fellow punters proud.
