Epic Bat Flip Proves Korean Baseball Players Are Awesome (Video)
In Major League Baseball, when you do something awesome, you’re supposed to pretend like you don’t even give a sh*t lest you hurt the pitcher’s pwitty wittow feewings. For that reason, bat flipping is frowned upon. It still happens, of course. But if you do it too often or with too much enthusiasm, you’re going to get plunked by a 90 mph fastball.
Fortunately, this is not how things work in the Korean Baseball Organization. In the KBO they believe that, if you hit a home run, you’ve earned the right to celebrate. And so bat flipping there is an art form.
That brings me to Mr. Jung Hoon of the Lotte Giants. On Thursday, Hoon launched a monster two-run homer in the bottom of the eight inning against SK Wyverns that gave his team a 3-1 lead. So he celebrated by flipping his bat like a motherf***ing boss.
Take a look:
Honestly, I don’t even know what the best part of this clip is: the home run, the bat flip, or the awesome call by the announcer.
Actually, yeah, it’s the awesome call by the announcer. But the home run and the bat flip were awesome, too.
Lighten up, Major League Baseball.
