YouTuber Creates Awesome “NBA on NBC”-Style Promo for the 2015 NBA Finals (Video)
NBC aired NBA games from 1990 to 2002, a period that saw the popularity and profitability of the league grow astronomically. Obviously, that probably had more to do with guys like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and Shaquille O’Neal than it did with NBC’s coverage. But NBC’s coverage was good. And to this day, a lot of NBA fans still remember it fondly.
I bring all this up because one of those fans is Emmy-winning television producer and commercial director Ryan Eytcheson. (Check out his bio.) He recently took the NBA on NBC “David vs. Goliath” promo from the 2001 NBA Finals starring Shaq and Allen Iverson and mashed it up with footage of Stephen Curry and LeBron James. The result is a promo for the 2015 NBA Finals that is probably way better than anything ABC/ESPN will produce.
Take a look:
The official description underneath this video on YouTube concludes, “If only the NBA on ABC/ESPN could make it this exciting.”
Sounds like maybe Eytcheson is trolling for a job, huh ABC?
