Check Out ESPN’s NBA Finals Stuart Scott Tribute (Video)
The late great Stuart Scott was a fixture at the NBA Finals, doing court-side interviews, providing pre-game analysis, and serving as MC for the presentation of the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
Sadly, Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Finals happened to fall on the five-month anniversary of Scott’s passing after a protracted battle against cancer, and his absence did not go unnoticed. In fact, thanks to a touching NBA Finals Stuart Scott tribute by longtime co-worker Michael Wilbon that ran during halftime of Game 1 on Thursday night, Scott’s absence was rather keenly felt.

For the most part, our recollection of people become much fonder once they are gone. It’s easier to profess your love and admiration for somebody when you’re no longer exposed to their shortcomings.
It says a lot about the kind of person Stuart Scott was and the impact he had on others that his friends and colleagues are still waxing poetic about him five months after his death. I have to think that, if we all had that sort of impact on those around us, the world would be a much better place.
