Monster truck driver Tom Meents went for the Guinness Record over the weekend, trying to become the first dude to perform a front-flip in a monster truck. He sort of got the flip done, but he didn’t get the world record.

Why? Although the monster truck did technically flip forward, the prerequisite was to have the front tires hit the ground after the back ones did. Instead, the truck just sort of bounced everywhere. It’s still pretty cool to watch, but it’s no world record.

Here’s the clip:

Here’s the official reply from the Guinness Record people:

Meents completed a full forward rotation, landing on Max-D’s rear tires, however bounced into an over-rotation so that his front tires did not hit the ground, as required by the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS guidelines.

Maybe next time, Tom.
