NBC Sports Chairman Wants NHL to Ditch Playoff Beards So Players Are More “Marketable”
Dwyane Wade Uses Past Tense When Discussing Time in Miami (Video)
Dwyane Wade has an interesting decision to make this offseason: accept his $16.1-million player option and stay with the Miami Heat, or become a free agent. The first option will see Wade hit the market when the cap is expected to explode in 2016, while option #2 will allow the 33-year-old injury-plagued guard to seek some long-term security with a new contract this summer.
Wade said he will not be making a decision until next month, but he’s expected to be seeking nearly $20-million per season, while the Heat are looking to pay closer to $10-million/season for his services.
As a result, it seems very likely that Dwyane Wade will be on his way out of South Beach. He certainly made it sound that way when he referred to his time in Miami using past tense while taking part in the ABC pregame show prior to Game 6 of the NBA Finals tonight:
Those sound like the words of a man who, in his mind, has already moved on from the city of Miami.
