Another Shot Fired in Ronda Rousey-Bethe Correia Feud (Pic)
Last month Bethe Correia started talking trash about Ronda Rousey to hype their upcoming fight at UFC 189, which is pretty typical in MMA.
Unfortunately, in this case Correia inadvertently went way over the line.
Here’s what she said:
“I want to see her reaction when I put some pressure against her. I want her to feel pressure and realize that I’m ready to fight her. She doesn’t have a good head, she needs to get help. There are a lot of people around her, she’s winning, but when she realizes that’s not everything, I don’t know what might happen. I hope she doesn’t commit suicide.”
Obviously, making any kind of reference to suicide to hype an MMA fight is in poor taste. However, in this case it was extremely offensive and hurtful, because Ronda Rousey’s father committed suicide.
Needless to say, Ronda Rousey did not appreciate that sh*t:
@bethecorreia suicide is no joke or selling point. My father will be with me the day I hand you the comeuppance you deserve.

And to her credit, Correia offered a very sincere apology:

But earlier this week, Rousey made it clear that it’s not all water under the bridge. Rousey is holding a grudge, and she plans to beat Correia with it on August 1:
Good luck, Correia. You’re going to need it.
