LaMarcus Aldridge is the top NBA free agent actually expected to leave his current team. (Sorry, Kevin Love and Dwyane Wade don’t count.) As such, Aldridge has been hearing pitches from a number of desperate teams, including the Spurs, Rockets, and Lakers.

Unfortunately for the Lakers, however, they were the first team Aldridge crossed off his list. And according to the Los Angeles Times’ Mike Bresnahan, Aldridge really didn’t care for Kobe’s portion of the Lakers’ pitch.

Now, this does not mean that it was Kobe’s fault the Lakers lost out on Aldridge. But it’s way more fun to pretend that this is exactly what it means, and the internet has no chill. So Twitter had a field day:

So how did Kobe respond to all this? He tried to fight fire with fire, creating a meme of his own:

But come on Kobe, that meme sucks.

Internet 10, Kobe 0.
