Prior to his tee shot on the 17th hole during the third round of the British Open Championship at St. Andrews on Sunday, England’s Eddie Pepperell held a share of the lead with Dustin Johnson at 10-under-par.

With birdies on the final two holes, Pepperell would have been the first golfer ever to record a round of 62 at a major championship. Instead, he went double bogey-par on the 17th and 18th for a round of 66, leaving him at 8-under-par, four strokes off the lead heading into Monday’s final round.
