Colin Cowherd’s Racist Comments About Dominicans Really Pissed Off Jose Bautista (Video)
Colin Cowherd is a professional troll. ESPN pays him to go on the radio and spew his terrible, ignorant opinions about sports precisely because they know it will make people angry. That’s what sports talk radio is all about.
That said, there are lines a jackass like Colin Cowherd are not supposed to cross. And one of those lines is the one that separates harmless nonsense from abject racism.
Unfortunately, on Thursday Colin Cowherd crossed that line.
During a segment about Miami Marlins manager Dan Jennings, Cowherd defended Jennings against claims that he is too inexperienced to manage a baseball team by saying baseball isn’t that complex. And to make his point he insulted every Dominican on earth.
“It’s baseball,” Cowherd said. “You don’t think a general manager can manage? Like it’s impossible? The game is too complex? I’ve never bought into that, ‘Baseball’s just too complex.’ Really? A third of the sport is from the Dominican Republic.”
I think I speak for pretty much all the non-racists of the world when I say WHAT THE HELL?
Check out Colin Cowherd’s racist comments for yourself:
Needless to say, Dominican ballplayers did not appreciate the comment. The MLB players union is demanding an apology, and Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista has personally threatened to tear Cowherd a new a-hole.
Dear Mr. @ESPN_Colin before i rip you a new one i would like for you to explain what u meant to say about baseball and dominicans, please

The funny thing is that Cowherd could not have picked a worse time to out himself as a huge racist. He recently announced that he’s leaving ESPN for Fox, and as NBC Sports’ Craig Calcaterra pointed out, it’s not very hard to imagine ballplayers boycotting the company until they cancel their contract with him.
“Sorry Erin Andrews, no interview for you. Your company just hired a racist.”
