How beloved was Rowdy Roddy Piper? So beloved that when the WWE legend passed away unexpectedly at the age of 61 on Friday, pretty much everyone born between 1975 and 1985 got on social media to proclaim the death of their childhood.

Rowdy Roddy Piper may not have been the most intimidating or talented heel to climb over the WWE ropes. But when it came to trash talk and charisma, he and Ric Flair were in a class unto themselves. For that reason, everyone was expecting a pretty fantastic Rowdy Roddy Piper tribute from the WWE on Monday Night Raw.

They definitely delivered.

At the start of the show on Monday, everyone in the company put on a classic “Hot Rod” t-shirt and stood on stage for a moment of silence and a ten-bell salute for the man born Roderick Toombs in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Then the WWE ran a three-minute montage of Roddy’s career highlights.

If you’re the sentimental type, it’ll give you goose bumps. Take a look:

RIP, Rowdy. You were one hell of an entertainer.
