Tim Tebow Throws Two Touchdowns - Eagles preseason

With Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley already on the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster, it seemed unlikely that Tim Tebow would remain on the team once they whittled their roster down to the 53-man requirement.

Facing such a precarious position, all Tebow could do on Thursday night was go out there and play his ass off during the Eagles’ final preseason game against the New York Jets.  And that’s exactly what the former Heisman Trophy winner did, completing 11 of his 17 pass attempts for 189 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Here’s a look at his first touchdown—an 18-yard strike to Rasheed Bailey during the second quarter:

And here’s his second—a 9-yard connection with Freddie Martino in the back of the end zone…

…which was set up by this 45-yard bomb, also to Martino:

Tebow also rushed for 32 yards on four attempts, and while the Eagles wound up losing the game, 24-18, Thursday night will likely be viewed as a major victory for Tim Tebow, who did enough to earn himself a spot on Philly’s 53-man roster.
