Graphic Designer Re-Envisions Nike NBA Sneakers as NFL Cleats (Pics)
One of the big advantages the NBA holds over other North American sports leagues is that the stuff the guys wear out on the court makes such an easy transition to street fashion.
Hockey players might wear the same skates Sidney Crosby wears, baseball players might wear the same cleats Mike Trout wears, and football players might wear the same cleats Russell Wilson wears. But they can’t wear them to a bar or club. And that means anyone who’s not a hockey player, baseball player, or football player won’t wear them at all.
But basketball? People have always been able to wear those shoes off the court. In fact, over the years it’s become fashionable to do so. And because of this, NBA sneaker design has become an art form unto itself, while NFL cleat design has not.
Still, it’s fun to imagine what cleats might look like if they received the attention that sneakers got. And graphic designer Patso Dimitrov imagined just that when he created these mashups of Nike NBA sneakers as NFL cleats:
Pretty tight, don’t you think?
