Extra Point Slams Ref in the Face, Goes Through Uprights
It’s been a dicey couple of weeks to be a high school football referee. Kids appear to be putting bounties on their heads, taking them out when they’re least suspecting. And now, even without bad intentions, they seem to have a target on their backs.
This referee was working a high school game and posted up in the end zone for an extra point when the ball came screaming at his face. Sure enough, it hit him, but with enough force that it careened off his head and through the uprights. I’m all for the safety of refs, but something like this should be worth at least four points.
Take a look:
The best part is the reaction of the other refs. They’re like, “You okay, Phil? Yeah, you’re good. EXTRA POINT IS GOOD!”
