J.R. Smith

Basketball season is about three weeks away from starting, so the Cleveland Cavaliers had their Red and Gold scrimmage last night. But before the game got underway, J.R. Smith lined up to sink a half-court shot to give $30,000 to a member of the military. And because J.R. Smith has a LOT of experience chucking up half-court shots before games, he was able to drain the thing, to a raucous applause.

Here’s the clip:

Dear God, that’s terrific form. He shoots that like he would a 17-footer. Wow. That’s more impressive than actually making it.

Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly where or to whom the cash is going, but hopefully this will become a regular thing for every game, and he’ll spread the wealth around.
