Ryan Mallett

Anyone who watched Hard Knocks knows there was a quarterback controversy brewing in Houston during training camp. Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett, two mediocre QBs, were slugging it out. Mallett inherited the job back in week 2, but last night, against the Colts, when Mallett was out for a few plays, Hoyer managed to bring the team some success.

Mallett tried to enter the game himself, but the coaching staff stuck with Hoyer. Up top is a fun photo of Mallett responding to a TD…by his own team.

And below is a Vine of Mallett reacting to the news that he’d be giving way to Hoyer:

Starter or not, you don’t want your quarterback to be a whiney baby. We’re seeing it in Miami right now, and it’s not pretty.

The Texans didn’t pull out the win, so who knows what next week will bring in this goofy showdown.
