The Saints have a way of making any game into a big game. It’s something about the city and the fan base that cranks up the level of excitement a little higher. Last night, the woeful 1-4 Saints managed to knock off the undefeated Falcons in convincing fashion, and even managed to block a huge punt for a TD.

Fans may remember the punt the Saints blocked against the Falcons way back in 2006 following the Katrina evacuation. This time around is wasn’t Steve Gleason who blocked the punt, but New Orleans native Michael Mauti. Mauti managed to block the kick and run it in. But Steve Gleason wasn’t TOO far away from play, sitting in his wheelchair on the sideline.

In 2011, Gleason was diagnosed with ALS, but has attended many Saints home games, and even managed to send a fun little tweet about ANOTHER Falcons punt blocked for a TD:

Nice work, Steve, and I”m sure your team appreciates the support.
