This ’30 for 30′ Parody About ‘Angels in the Outfield’ Is Perfect
Die-Hard Blue Jays Fan Misunderstands Reporter, Think’s She Just Won Playoff Tickets
Oh, there are no winners in the news clip you are about to see. No winners at all. Only a very sad Toronto Blue Jays fan and a local news reporter who learned the hard way not to ask questions in the form of statements.
The clip is from last Wednesday, after the Blue Jays beat the Rangers in Game 5 of the ALDS to advance to the ALCS for the first time in 22 years. While doing a story about the big win, a reporter for Toronto news channel CP24 interviewed a die-hard Blue Jays fan. And during that interview, the reporter asked the fan if she planned to buy tickets to the next round—only the reporter didn’t actually phrase the question that way.
What the reporter actually said was, “Okay, so you’re going to be getting tickets to the next round?” But what the die-hard Blue Jays fan heard was, “Okay, so you’re going to be getting tickets to the next round!!!” Then she screamed like a banshee, and things go super awkward for viewers at home.
Take a look:
So hard to watch, and yet so hard to look away.
I bet the reporter will never ask a question that way again.
