Glitch in Yahoo Fantasy Football App Gave Falcons Kicker Shayne Graham 16 Field Goals in Week 12
On Tuesday, veteran NFL kicker Shayne Graham lost his father, 71-year-old Army vet Thomas Graham. Then, on Wednesday, the 37-year-old free agent got a call from the Atlanta Falcons, who wanted to sign him as a replacement for the injured Matt Bryant. And Graham decided he would go ahead and play to honor his father.
So on Sunday, anybody who knew about Graham’s situation and happened to be following Week 12’s action on the Yahoo fantasy football app must have been absolutely thrilled to see that Graham had kicked four field goals…then five…then six…THEN SEVEN…AND THEN OMG EIGHT?!?! The guy had one of the greatest kicking performances in NFL history just five days after his dad passes away? You can’t make that up!
But then Graham kicked number nine. Then 10. And then numbers 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and, finally, 16. And at that point, people following his performance on the Yahoo fantasy football app started to realize something was not right. And they were not happy.
Yahoo keeps giving Shayne Graham FGs. He’s got 10 right now pic.twitter.com/69dWG5iNxj

@YahooFantasy you have shayne graham with 48 fantasy points. Says he has 16 field goals. Actually has one. How about you fix that

Who the fuck is Shayne Graham? Where’s Matt Bryant..

Unfortunately, this historic NFL performance didn’t actually happen. Shayne Graham did not kick six field goals and rack up 48 fantasy points, which would have been the most by any player since 2000. It was all a glitch in the Matrix:
Our systems apparently got too excited by Shayne Graham taking the field! Rest assured, we are looking into things.

However, we should point out that Graham’s actual performance was not bad at all. He went 1/1 in field goal attempts and 1/1 in PAT attempts. So he did all he possibly could and should still hold his head high.
