Craig Sager and Gregg Popovich Reunited

If you know anything about San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich—besides the fact that he’s one of the best basketball coaches of all time—it’s that the man cannot stand doing interviews. Especially the ones the NBA makes coaches give during games. So he almost always gives the reporter conducting said interviews a hard time.

That’s not to say Popovich is disrespectful or mean. That’s never the case. He just figures if reporters are going to make his job more difficult, he’s going to make their job more difficult.

Of course, Popovich’s favorite sideline adversary over the years has been TNT’s Craig Sager. He has never been able to fluster Sager with his antics, but trying has become one of his favorite pastimes. So Popovich rather missed Sager when he took a leave of absence in 2014 to battle leukemia.

Fortunately, as you probably know, Sager’s battle was successful. So this year he’s back on NBA sidelines. And on Thursday night, Craig Sager and Gregg Popovich were finally reunited for an interview that was sweet and funny, though hardly informative.

Take a look:

Now Craig Sager is really back.
